"Located minutes from the Palm Springs International Airport, the Palm Springs Air Museum's climate controlled hangars include one ot the world's largest collections of flying World War II warplanes (most in flying condition). In addition to magnificent aircraft, there are classic automobiles. Ideal for individuals, families and group tours, visitors can tour through a flyable B-17 and C-47. The museum contains an 8,500 volume library, flight simulators, a Children's Discovery Center and the Gen. Ken Miles Aviation Science Center. Open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and the 2nd Friday in February), the museum is also available for day and evening event rentals. Individual admission prices for the Museum range from $7 - 15 (subject to change, check the website). Active military with ID and children 5 and under are free. Student and Adult group tours of 15 or more are welcome, with two-weeks' notice. Please call for reservations and details - x 241. Located downtown in an architecturally-significant building, the Palm Springs Art Museum features compelling exhibitions and a robust permanent collection of modern, contemporary, Native American, Western and Mesoamerican and glass art in 28 spacious galleries and in its two outdoor sculpture gardens. The museum offers educational lectures, films and an assortment of programs and art workshops for all ages. The museum's Annenberg Theater features outstanding musical performances. The museum is open six days a week; Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Thursday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. with free admission from 4 - 8 p.m., (sponsored by the City of Palm Springs), and the Second Sunday of Every Month. Admission is free to members; youths 12 and under and active-duty military and their families. Regular admission is $12.50 for adults; $10.50 for seniors 62 and over; and $5 for adult students.
