A trip to the top of Mt. San Jacinto on the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is an awesome experience. The world's largest single span vertical cable car, the Tram takes riders up 8,516 feet to the Mountain Station in a state-of-the-art rotating tram-car. The Tram runs year round for hiking, dining and in season cross-country skiing.

Active lifestyles and an abundance of recreational opportunities helps maintain good health and well being for Palm Springs residents and visitors. It is well known that with more than 120 golf courses throughout the Coachella Valley, Palm Springs is truly the ultimate golfing destination. Golf is a primary attraction for many people, with courses designed to be challenging as well as enjoyable. This desert oasis is home to some of the finest courses in the country, as well as some of the world's best players.

Other attractions such as the Coachella Valley Preserve, Moorten's Botanical Garden and The Living Desert showcase the unique desert flora and fauna, offering a pleasing, peaceful alternative for leisure activities.

Palm Springs now hosts an almost continuous whirl of cultural events. Annual highlights are the Palm Springs International Film Festival, held in January, and the Palm Springs Short Film Festival, held in August. The Living Desert
1,200 acre wildlife and botanical park, featuring rare and endangered desert animals and African wildlife, hiking trails, picnic areas, cafe and gift shop. Shaded and misted areas throughout the park. Open daily year round, except December 25.

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway
Aboard the world's largest rotating tramcar, you will experience a breathtaking journey up the sheer cliffs of Chino Canyon. Begin your 10-minutes ride at the 2,643 ft. Valley Station and rise to the Mountain Station at 8,516 ft. in winter, you can cross-country ski, and snowshoe. In summer, camping and guided tours are available. "Enjoy spectacular views of the desert below from Peaks Restaurant or Pines Caferteria-Style restaurant where lunch and dinner are served daily." Open year-round 10 a.m weekdays, 8 a.m weekends and holidays. Cars depart at least every half hour. Last car down 9:45 p.m.

Knott's Soak City
Palm Spring's only water adventure park is 16 acres of water rides and attractions. Themed to 1950s Southern California beaches, Soak City guests can catch a wave in the 800,000-gallon Rip Tide Reef wave pool; brave one of Tidal Wave Tower's 7-story vertical chutes or relax in the Sunset River.
